BREAKING: President Tinubu Nominates Jamila Ibrahim, 1 Other As Ministers of Youths


  • President Bola Tinubu has nominated Jamila Bio Ibrahim and Ayodele Olawande as the new minister of youth and minister of state for youth
  • While Jamila had served as SSS to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq of Kwara State, Olawande served SA to former President Muhammadu Buhari on innovation
  • President Tinubu then urged the two nominees to consistently reflect the spirit of the Nigerian youths in their dealings as ministers

FCT, AbujaPresident Bola Tinubu has nominated Jamila Bio Ibrahim as the new minister of youth, she will be serving in an acting capacity till the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria confirms her for the position.

Also, the president nominated Ayodele Olawande as the minister of state for youth. His nomination awaits the Senate’s confirmation as he would also be in an acting capacity, TVC News reported.

The new minister of youths is a young medical doctor. She recently served as the president of the Progressive Young Women Forum. She also served as the Senior Special Assistant to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq of Kwara State on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

On the other hand, Olawande, the minister of youth for state designate, is a community development expert and a youth leader in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Olawande recently served as special adviser to former President Muhammadu Buhari on Innovation from 2019 to 2023.

In his address to the new ministers, President Tinubu urged the new nominees to make sure that they consistently reflect the productivity, dynamism and zeal found in Nigerian young people in the discharge of their duties.

With the new appointment, the ministers serving under President Tinubu have moved from 45 to 47. The president’s cabinet is the highest in Africa since the return of democracy in 1999.

Legit.ng earlier reported that President Bola Tinubu has approved the formation of the Livestock Industry Reform Committee in a bid to find a lasting solution to the farmer-herder crisis across the country/

The committee, whose mandate was summarised to six points by Dada Olusegun, the special assistant to the President, was headed by Abdullahi Gandue, the APC national chairman.

On Thursday, Ganduje disclosed that the committee had recommended the establishment of a Livestock ministry to the president.
