The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) on Wednesday, July 5th, revealed that the forensic analysis has confirmed that the dollar videos of former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje were not doctored.
In 2017, an online publication, released some videos of Ganduje allegedly collecting kickbacks from contractors, Vanguard reported.

But speaking at ‘A one-day public dialogue on anti-corruption crusade in Kano’ on Wednesday, July 5th, Barrister Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado, chairman of the agency, confirmed the authenticity of the videos, Daily Trust reported.
He said since the release of the footages, people have been challenging him to prove the innocence or otherwise of the former governor in the matter.
Barrister Rimingado added that his commission commenced an investigation in 2018 but could not go far because Ganduje, who was governor at the time, had immunity.

This is coming immediately after the anti-graft agency arrested Idris Saleh, former commissioner for works and infrastructure in Ganduje’s cabinet.
The former commissioner, was arrested on Monday, July 3rd, alongside five others alleged to be involved in N1 billion fraud, The Cable report added.

The Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC) has formally launched an investigation against the former governor of the state, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
The probe is connected with the alleged bribery videos, which showed Ganduje with a stash of dollars.
Briefing newsmen on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at the office of the Kano State Public Complaint and Anticorruption Commission (PCACC), Muhuyi Rimingado, the chairman of the agency, said it is making a series of inroads into the investigation.

In a piece of related news, Legit.ng reported that Abba Kabir Yusuf, the governor of Kano state, on Wednesday, June 21, approved the reinstatement of Barrister Muhyi Magaji Rimin Gado as the chairman of the Public Complaints and Anti Corruption Commission.
With this return, Rimin Gado will complete his tenure as Kano’s anti-corruption boss.
The reinstatement is with immediate effect, according to multiple media reports.
