The Nation newspaper reported that the tragic incident transpired on Saturday, April 22.
Legit.ng gathered that the scene of the incident was at the Sango Police Barracks in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.
The collapsed structure sits in front of a residential three-storey building in the area, The Nigerian Tribune reported.

The building collapse in Ibadan is coming less than a week after a similar occurrence happened in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Wednesday, April 19 at a construction site at Ademola Adetokunbo Crescent, Wuse 2, Abuja.
Meanwhile, the Oyo state emergency service response team has yet to issue an official statement on the tragic incident at the time of filing this report.
Similarly, the Oyo state police command is yet to issue a statement as regards the tragic incident.
Tension as Building Collapses in Abuja, 2 Feared Dead
Similarly, no fewer than two persons have been confirmed dead as another building collapses in Abuja, on Wednesday, April 19.
Reports have it that the workers were feared dead after a fence structure collapsed at the site on Wednesday.
Four workers were said to have been rescued alive, while two were fatally injured as the search and rescue operation continues, the DG of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) confirmed to newsmen.
Many Feared Trapped as Building Collapses in Abuja
Legit.ng had earlier reported that a shopping mall in the 4th Avenue area of Gwarimpa in the Federal Capital Territory has collapsed.
It was gathered that the shopping mall collapsed in Abuja at about 2:41 pm on Thursday, February 2.
Officials have said that efforts are being put in place to ensure that those who are trapped in the rubble are rescued.
